Robert Daniel Weinholdt, a life-long Auburn & Sacramento area resident left this world on Friday June 16, 2017. He is now fulfilling his duties as First Officer on the Starship USS Enterprise. He will eternally spend his days dominating RPG's, memorizing every line of every movie.ever, destroying contestants on Jeopardy, and feeding the masses with all sorts of Italian fare.

Robert was welcomed into this world by his eager parents, Joann Baldoni and Robert M. Weinholdt, on September 5, 1983, and from that day forward his presence brought joy to everyone around him. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School in Auburn and went on to Placer High and Sierra College. Robert had an intense passion for all things culinary and found so much joy in his latest position at Purple Pig Eats.

As a child Robert (then Bobby D) was rambunctious, to say the least. He loved playing T-Ball, soccer, basketball and football. Many days were spent with his loving grandparents, Alice Weinholdt and Dan & Marie Baldoni, and he always treasured his time with them. A former Boy Scout, Robert thrived in the outdoors and, when it came to nature, he couldn't get enough. Whether he was camping, hiking or in the water, he never seemed more full of life than when he was at one with the planet (except for maybe when he was in the kitchen).

Robert never met someone he couldn't make laugh. It seemed nearly impossible to leave Robert's company without a giant smile and full belly. He gave himself to his friends and family wholeheartedly. As a history buff, Robert often reflected on how the world once was, and reminded many of the lessons of time. His old soul was intrigued by things of antiquity, whether it was classic Italian music, ancient artifacts, Greek & Roman mythology, or his nostalgic draw toward simpler times.

With lightening speed, Robert's wit could build you up or put you in your place, accordingly. His sense of humor was of an acquired yet universal nature. No matter how smart you thought you were, Robert was always one step ahead, as his well-read mind pulled knowledge from JRR Tolkien to Jim Butcher. He definitely left this world a more informed place.

He leaves behind his loving and heartbroken parents, Joann Baldoni of Auburn and Robert & Terri Weinholdt of Camanche, CA. His younger siblings David, Hannah and Katie will always long for their big brother. Robert considered his closest friends Daniel, Andrew, Jacob and so many more to be family as they meant so much to him. He will forever be missed, but always remembered for all of the love, light and brilliance he brought into the world.

Arrivaderci & Auf Wiedersehen, Robert!
